International Awareness and Involvement
Members of the International Awareness and Involvement Committee participates and organize events to highlight the prevalence of Human Trafficking and its impact on our communities. Human trafficking is modern-day slavery and involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. Human trafficking is a hidden crime as victims rarely come forward to seek help because of language barriers, fear of the traffickers, and/or fear of law enforcement. Human Trafficking is the third largest criminal enterprise in the world. Every year thousands of women and children fall into the hands of traffickers, in the United States and abroad. Human trafficking is a clear and present danger to Alabama and its communities.
